Agastya is the mischievous son, the playful nephew, the inquisitive boy next door. Agastya is who you were a few decades back or maybe who you still are deep down inside.
Agastya is also a 2D animated kids show about the life of a curious 7-year-old boy from Dehradun, who lives with his family comprising of his parents, elder sister and grandmother. His adorable antics, fun-filled demeanor and innocent clashes with his sister often lead to gaffes and hilarious situations in the family, which quickly transform into an opportunity for both the siblings to learn something new about the wonderful world they inhabit, the ancient culture they have inherited and the profound religious tradition their family adheres to.
The show is a mix of unadulterated fun and effortless learning as the various family members chime in with riveting stories on Dharma, History, Science, Music and so on. Thematically, each episode is divided into two parts:
1. Agastya goofing around and being himself and
2. A story told to Agastya by one of his family members.
The objective of the show is to try to fill the gap between growing up in a healthy, functional joint family and the sad modern reality of kids negotiating the loneliness of urban life with a low cultural quotient. The tone of the show is contemporary with aesthetically done visuals and animation. The language is tailor made for parents who want to introduce their kids to Indian culture in a light hearted yet authentic manner. Every episode is 20 mins approx in length and is a perfect blend of entertainment, education and animation.
